Well, a /lot/ of people were seeing this as if it were a fix/solution - not a stopgap measure that won't get you a proper activation for a retail license. Edit: People won't know the 180 bit and they won't know it's not a real activation or solution from Microsoft. That's the problem - perception.
A post like this brings light to the fact that it's NOT a real solution for legitimate upgrades. Even if you're legally licensed after the upgrade, this makes your machine invalidly licensed, and will cause headaches down the road if you ever call for legitimate support, sell the machine, etc.
