Once that is verified, the VPN should change the status to 'connected'. Submitted on 7/19/2016 Review title of AntApp installs fine but does not accept credentials After installing, this application tells you to create a new VPN connection with 'Forticlient' as the provider.
This step goes fine but when you attempt to connect to that VPN connection, it just continues to ask for your login information. I'm 100% sure that I'm entering that information correctly because I'm logging into my device directly through Edge or with their old x86 SSL-VPN client. I'll keep troubleshooting it to see what the cause is but that's pretty difficult because there are no error messages at the connection screen and the events logged in the Event Viewer are only giving 'Error Code 0,' which isn't much help.
At the moment, this app appears pretty useless. Submitted on Review title of IsaacWorks Perfectly I've been using the desktop client for a long time. Today I switched. This Forticlient app worked perfectly to connect with a SSL VPN. I also like that it seems to have less of a footprint.
The forticlient doesn't appear to launch at windows startup. It was an easy setup. Followed the instructions they provided after install and it worked the first time. They advertise it only does SSL-VPN right now, so it doesn't deserve low stars because it doesn't have all the features of the desktop client.
For what its advertised as, it does its job. Many complain that it doesn't work with self-signed certificates. Read the instructions. You have to add '?ice=1' to the end of your server name. Works Perfectly so far.

The machines are not using a telemetry service to our Fortigate. Even if I shutdown FortiClient and do a check for updates, none are found.
Looking at my Fortigate 300D the machine is making several connections to Microsoft sites/IP addresses when checking for updates such as these: fe2.update.microsoft.com, v20.vortex-win.data.microsoft.com Other Win 10 machines using the built-in Defender, or another AV product are picking up updates without issue. I can't guarantee that FortiClient is the issue, but it is the common denominator for machines that aren't receiving updates.
So to give you some context, we had an issue on our WSUS server that broke after we upgraded to 5.6.2. The issue was with BITS services using the 'background' ITS. We had to force it to go into 'Foreground' mode. But that issue seemed to be more related to Fortigate and how the Fortigate Proxies the traffic. Its possible something in Forticlient put its hooks into a reg key or file for Windows Update. If possible can you do a manual reset of the Windows Update services, at the file and regkey level.
This article may help with that as there are a lot of other dependencies than just 'Windows Update Service' in services. If you are using BITS. I would suggest setting it to Foreground mode, as the Fortinet products dont play nice with Background after the recent firmware updates.
